Aerial Extravaganza! Winston-Salem June 2-3, 8 pm.

The Wright brothers believed there was something special in the air of North Carolina. So, in 1903 they chose Kitty Hawk, NC for the maiden flight of their new flying apparatus, the airplane. We all know how that show turned out.

Alayna Stroud, dancer/choreographer/ aerial artist, will be launching herself and 7 other dancers aloft in a unique aerial dance performance. [See Photo]

This "Air Show" will be held at The Hut - an artists collective located on the corner of Northwest Boulevard and Rundell Street, June 2-3. [see aerial photo] Alayna agrees that there is something special in the air of North Carolina. After you see what she has planned, you will too.

Her ambitious and exciting aerial project is as dazzling as it is dizzying. With the use of high-tech mountain climbing rigs, suspended ropes and simple velvet loops, the gravity-defying performance is certain to mesmerize and amaze onlookers. The music spans from hypno-melodic to techno. I had a sneak peak at the rehearsals and can tell you it is like nothing I have ever seen. Think: Mission Impossible meets high-wire ballet.

Alayna explains that "the endeavor has many dimensions...not only will we be premiering several aerial and modern dance pieces, we will be sharing the new developmental stages of The Hut in its goal to become a functioning artist collective. There will also be live music, painting, installation art and refreshments. This is basically a party with bonus entertainment."

The Hut Collective [THC] buzzes with the creative energy of dancers, mechanics, designers, woodworkers, artists, blacksmiths, sculptors, and inventors...All under one Hot Tin Roof!

10$ at the door is the suggested donation.

JUNE 2-3. Performance begins at 8 pm.

Looks good, verge

Cool satellite photo...great poster.
see ya there!

For those of you who missed it Friday night...

Don't be left out and miss this a second time!! I went not knowing what to expect and experienced something truly unique to Winston-Salem.

Come out tonight to see the talented dancers and this amazing space.

Great show!

This show was a wonderful experience, especially for Winston Salem.

I was not sure what to expect when I arrived at "The Hut", but I was pleasantly surprised.

The show for me was "mildly erotic" and it showed a level of training and talent rarely found in independent productions.

Great performance, keep up the good work.

Are there any more upcoming events at The Hut that I should know about? I missed this one but everyone who saw it said it was amazing.

Chris

I missed this show but heard from friends that it was great.

What other events/projects are on the upcoming schedule at The Hut?
