[Low Bend, NC] A bungled robbery turned into a tragic and deadly shootout between two armed robbers and a local business owner. Two gunmen entered "Cash 2 Go" under a misunderstanding of the business name and what it implied. "Cash 2 Go" is a short-term loan company that offers payday advances for an exorbitant fee.
Witnesses claim that the two gunmen politely requested some "money to go", but when asked for their most recent paychecks and two pieces of ID, things "spiralled out of control". Neither of the gunmen were employed at the time of the robbery. A heated argument ensued between the gunmen and the owner, revolving around the definition of "false advertising". Both gunmen then threatened the owner, brandishing pistols. The thieves made off with $1407. As they fled the store screaming "Cash to Go!" the owner opened fire with an automatic he "kept at the ready". The thieves fired back screaming "false advertising". The three men exchanged gunfire across the street as the robbers sped off in a green Ford pick-up. Both gunmen escaped and are currently at large. The owner was also unhurt, but an innocent bystander [name withheld] was fatally wounded as he exited the Post Office.
The 34 year-old victim had just mailed his GED enrollment form, and was intending to finally complete his High School Diploma.
Little is known of the victim, but witnesses who knew him said he often boasted that he had coined the expression "My bad", which is currently in widespread usage across the country. Officials have said that the victim's "boast" is unconfirmed. Forensic evidence has shown that the victim was killed by a bullet fired by the owner of "Cash 2 Go" during the shoot out. When told of his responsibility in the shooting death, the store owner was grief-stricken and at a loss for words. He mumbled "My bad", to the investigating officers.

Eyecatching headline, my friend. I understand that English teachers across the country are relieved, if somehat saddened by the tragic shooting.
"verge on!"
Although the victim claimed the phrase, it actually appears in Shakespeare's "Henry IV Part I", as Hal apologizes to his father for associating with Falstaff and his cohorts.
Well noted Anonymous reader!
However, I should acknowledge the "dubious" validity of some facts in the story...
The GOOD news is the article contained some inaccuracies [ie lies] Such as: No one was shot...there is no Low Bend, "Cash 2 Go" or semantically obsessed robbers.
The BAD news is sadly the TRUE news: short-term loan or "payday advances" prey on the poorest in our nation by charging outrageous fees for their graft, too many yahoos own [and like to fire] their automatic weapons, innocent bystanders are often killed in shoot-outs, poor grammar and highschool dropout rates in the US are significantly above other G8 nations.
